It’s Still All About The Fishing Business

I know the small size of the sumptuous piece of fish in my lunch today was nowhere close to the mammoth harvest Jesus had with his disciples in Luke 5: 2-11, but it was enough for me to think about the fishing business in Jesus’s story.

The story of how a fishing miracle turned around the eternal fortunes of ordinary men can never lose its flavour. Our work with Jesus is still about the fishing business. Jesus is still in the art of making us expert fishers for all humans. This fishing business is where we find our purpose and calling to excellence.

As we set out to this new month, please let’s remember that “It’s still all about the fishing business”. Let’s embrace Jesus’ principles of Love, Grace and Excellence this month!

Jesus said to them, “Come with me. I’ll make a new kind of fisherman out of you. I’ll show you how to catch men and women instead of perch and bass.” They didn’t ask questions, but simply dropped their nets and followed.
