God’s Ceaseless Goodness

The opening line of the chorus from the 2021 song “Your Goodness” by the renowned Nigerian gospel minister, Dunsin Oyekan, is deeply inspiring:

“Your goodness looks good on us,
And we wear Your glory.”

This line beautifully captures the excellence of God’s ceaseless goodness and our ever-present reality as His children. God’s goodness truly looks good on us, and we are the living expression of His glory. God is good—and we are His! Our Father is ceaselessly good; therefore, we are ceaselessly blessed. I want this reality to truly sink in.

Scripture affirms this truth so clearly:

1 John 3:1a
“See how very much our Father loves us, for He calls us His children—and that is what we are!”

God loves us so deeply that He has called us His children—and that is our undeniable identity.

As we step into this new month and this New Year, I announce to us that God’s ceaseless goodness is unfailing.

His goodness looks good on us,
and like garments of light, His glory rests on us.

We are the children of God.
We are children of excellence.
We are children of light.
We are children of hope.
We are children of victory.
We are born into God’s ceaseless goodness.

The Word declares:

Lamentations 3:22–23 (NKJV)
Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
