Teamwork Makes Our Dreams Work

Everyday I take note of the team of construction workers building a new skyscraper in my neighborhood, as they work in tandem to realize the dream of the architectural master plan sanctioned by the building’s owner. Firstly the builders align with the architect’s plan and then they work as a team to synchronize their unique skill sets to bring the architectural dream to reality.

Our Christian walk is no different. Teamwork makes our dreams work. Just as Jesus paid attention to the Father in all his actions, we have to constantly work in tandem with God in all our actions. Also, we must work in tandem with the church – yes, the imperfect church. For as we all drive through these imperfect corridors of life, we need to be in constant rendezvous with God because he is all knowing, all loving, all guiding and all protecting. We also need to pick the company we keep carefully so we can make the best use of our unique qualities to continually be at our best.

So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.
