A Consuming Fire!: CLM New Month Message November 2025

On October 8, 1871, the world recorded its deadliest firestorm, which swept through northeastern Wisconsin and parts of Michigan in the USA, consuming an estimated 1,500 to 2,500 lives. Years later, the unforgiving Australian bushfires of 1974–75 devoured an overwhelming 289 million acres—about 15% of the Australian continent’s total landmass. These tragic events remind us of the staggering, uncontrollable power of a consuming fire.

Yet, even these devastating infernos pale beside the potency of our God, who is Himself a consuming fire. Earthly fires burn indiscriminately — destroying everything in their path, leaving behind only ashes and desolation. But the fire of God is altogether different. His fire is holy, intentional, and filled with purpose. It does not destroy for destruction’s sake; rather, it purifies, refines, and transforms. God’s consuming fire burns away impurity so that what remains is pure, steadfast, and aligned with His heart.

The Creator of all things is infinitely greater than anything He has made.
He consumes all that stands against His holiness — every trace of unholiness, impurity, unrighteousness, and darkness. Nothing can endure before Him except that which is refined by His love and aligned with His truth. He is a jealous God, passionately protective of His people, fiercely guarding all who belong to Him.

Our God is a consuming fire!

As we step into this new month, let us fill our hearts with this truth and walk boldly in its reality:

  • God is a fierce protector — therefore, we are protected.
  • God is a great lover — therefore, we are loved.
  • God is a faithful provider — therefore, our resources are sure.
  • God is a consuming fire — therefore, He will consume every opposition to His Kingdom.

Deuteronomy 4:24 (NIV)
For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

Hebrews 12:28–29 (NIV)
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.”

As this new month unfolds, may we rest in His fierce protection, trust His faithful provision, and let His holy fire refine every part of our lives.
I look forward to a month full of testimonies!
